At 4-0, the New York Mets have the best record in the major leagues.
“I don’t want to look ahead, but we’re clearly the team to beat,” manager Terry Collins said after his team defeated the lowly Washington Nationals last night, 4-3. “I’m thinking I may pull David (Wright) from the lineup soon to rest him for the playoffs.”
After finishing fourth in the NL East the last few seasons, the usually-disappointing Mets say it’s great to be back on top.
“The champagne is being iced as we speak,” oft-injured pitcher Johan Santana told OMGG.com. “I’d be shocked if we didn’t go undefeated this season.”
