After learning that Magic Johnson purchased his former baseball team, Los Angeles Dodgers great Mike Piazza decided to return the favor.
“I’m pleased to announce that I bought the Los Angeles Lakers earlier today,” announced the legendary catcher via twitter.
News of the transaction came as a surprise to many, including longtime owner Jerry Buss, who told OMGG.com that Piazza is a “certified nutjob” and the Lakers have never been for sale.
“This morning, Mike did offer to buy the team for ten thousand dollars cash and an autographed bat,” said the 78-year old businessman. “Moments after I rejected him, he fired off a rambling email letting me know that he traded Kobe (Bryant).”
