Kentucky Players Admit They Tried to Let Kansas Win

April 4, 2012

Kentucky steamrolled Kansas in Monday night’s NCAA championship game, easily winning the eighth national title in school history.

After leading by 18 points in the first half, the NBA-ready Wildcats admit they began feeling sorry for their overmatched opponents.

“They were so small and weak, we worked really hard to not block all their shots,” said freshman star Anthony Davis. “They still couldn’t score, I think they were intimidated by my unibrow.”

Kentucky’s head coach John Calipari says in hindsight, there is nothing more he could’ve done.

“Sitting our stars wouldn’t have helped, because our bench would’ve dominated their pathetic starting five,” said the 2012 SEC Coach of the Year. “At one point, I even threatened to take away player paychecks if they didn’t stop the slaughter.”
